This review starts with a gripe. Why are there so many cafes where they make you order at the counter and collect your own cutlery? I've never understood that. But - for good coffee and nice food it's not the end of the world. So it was with hope that I ordered at Pennyweight. This place wouldn't substitute poached eggs with scrambled eggs - even when they do serve scrambled eggs with other dishes on the menu. Why? Just doesn't seem like a big deal
We ended up with four eggs all poached pretty differently, but all fresh - so - not too bad. The bacon wasn't crispy at all, just a bit sad on my plate.
There aren't a heap of options for really great coffee and breakfast in port Stephens, and this wasn't too bad, but I probably won't be back. -

The lady serving on the weekend has breath that would stop a dog in its tracks. Horrible hygiene. The cook looks like a meth addict. I refused to order when these type of people are handling my food. Also the old hippie dude was yelling at the young staff and one of the girls was in tears. Horrible.
